Press Release CEBC Ethics Chief For Immediate Release
Contact: Bob Shoemake MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Calling him “a pioneer in the field of applied business ethics,” the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) honored Ron James, president and chief executive officer of the Center for Ethical Business Cultures® (CEBC) with its 2nd annual SCCE International Compliance Award. In presenting the award, SCCE noted James’ work to improve corporate citizenship and develop corporate cultures through executive leadership training focused on developing integrity and ethical behaviors. Under his leadership, CEBC has developed a robust suite of tools for ethical leadership development which are used with boards of directors, senior leadership teams, middle managers and front line employees. The Center assists business leaders and companies across the United States with instruments for assessing the ethical dimensions of corporate culture and with consulting and training for business executives. In addition, James is a sought–after speaker to business and professional organizations. SCCE’s recognition underscores the Center’s leading edge work and its increasing national and international impact. In acknowledging the award, James highlighted the important role executives play in building successful organizations. “Leaders, in word and action, have to demonstrate that how we achieve performance goals is as important as the achievement of the goals. And doing both is what creates, in my terms, successful organizations.” Before coming to CEBC, James served as President and CEO of the Human Resources Group, an international division of Ceridian Corporation. Prior to joining Ceridian, James served as Minnesota’s top Executive Officer for US West Communications, Inc. and Regional Vice-President for US West, which included responsibilities for Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. He served on the Advisory Group of the United States Sentencing Commission from 2002–2003 with a task of reviewing the 10–year old Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations, and participated in President Bush’s Economic Summit focusing on Corporate Responsibility. CEBC is a 28–year old non–profit based in Minneapolis at the University of St. Thomas with a mission to assist business leaders in creating ethical and profitable business cultures at the enterprise, community and global levels. The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), an international, non–profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of corporate governance, compliance and ethics. |
