CEBC IN THE NEWS
The Best of BusinessTM 2003 Best Business Event White Collar Crime and Personal Responsibility Published October 2003 in the Twin Cities Business Monthly.
The School of Law and the College of Business' Center for Ethical Business Cultures at the University of St. Thomas put together this extraordinary event, which was held in June. Among the speakers were several convicted and indicted business people, including recently sentenced investor Marvin Goldstein. No one who was there will forget George Kline, the Minnesota college basketball star and noted financier who was convicted of insider trading, slowly approaching the podium in his penitentiary uniform in the company of two well-groomed FBI agents. The setting, the First Baptist Church on 10th Street near Hennepin Avenue, added to the drama of the event, and made its meanings more complex. We suspect many people left a bit shaken in their souls.
